The
birth of the Internet has provided mankind with one of its greatest tools,
ever! No one can deny the resourcefulness of this amazing invention. People
throughout the world can now communicate with others 3000 miles away, as well
as share their personal opinion on any issue on their minds. No other tool has
changed the lives of business, big or small, as has the Internet.
One
specific group that has sliced off a big chunk of this communications’ pie is
religionists, especially evangelicals. They are everywhere, developing and
using blogs, web sites, radio shows –and Facebook, of course – to share the
Gospel and win souls for Jesus Christ, as was His Great Commission (Matthew
24:14; Mark 16:15; Romans 10:15). The Internet has replaced the local community
churches throughout the land, as did its radio and television forerunners,
reaching every crevice of humanity, with their messages.
Sadly
though, rather than simply preaching and teaching directly from the Bible,
there is a great throng of “so-called” evangelicals that are promoting
anomalies (such as Ufology, Ancient Aliens, Nephilim, Transhumanism, Zombies,
and a myriad of spiritualistic phenomenon) that really have nothing to do with
the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, one of the more effective catch phrases
being used to ostensibly validate their objectives is taken from Matthew 24:37,
which say that the confirmation of the soon return of Christ will be the same As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son
of Man.
They interpret this to mean that the prevalent times spoken of in Genesis 6 relate more so to the presence of fierce giants roaming the streets and attacking humans. This premise ostensibly validates the works of many authors who write books about Nephilim, UFO’s Extraterrestrials, ancient aliens and other supernatural phenomenon that is gripping at the fearful hearts of their fellow Christians. Most certainly, this provocative agenda sells books and movies, of which sinister forces are promoting.
One of the biggest proponents of this theory is author and end times aficionado Chuck Missler, whose website includes the following:
“There
continues to be a flow of articles, books, and entertainment programs dealing
with UFOs, aliens, and the like.1 Many wonder if there is a
connection or relationship to the prediction of our Lord in Luke 17:26:They interpret this to mean that the prevalent times spoken of in Genesis 6 relate more so to the presence of fierce giants roaming the streets and attacking humans.
"And as it was in
the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man."
The
emergence of the "Nephilim" was what brought about the Flood of Noah.
Who were they? Is the current interest in the possibility of "alien"
involvements somehow of Biblical relevance?
The
NephilimGenesis 6 indicates that the "sons of God" (B'nai Elohim) took wives of the "daughters of men," which gave birth to the "Nephilim." What on earth was going on?
The B'nai
Elohim is a term that refers to angels. It occurs four times in the
Old Testament 2 and is rendered "Angels of
God" in the ancient Septuagint translation.3 The intrusion of certain angels
into the human family resulted in unnatural offspring termed Nephilim,
which derives from the Hebrew naphal (to fall), or the Fallen
Ones. (The Greek Septuagint renders this term gigantes, which
actually means "earth-born." This is often misunderstood to mean
"giants"--which they also happen to have been, incidentally).”
There may be some partial truth to this theory. Our mission is
not to debate this issue other than to say that Jesus’ main reference to the
“Days of Noah” concerned itself primarily with “man” not evil spiritual
entities. While the following group of scripture does make reference to the
possible theory that fallen angels descended to earth and impregnated some
human woman and supposedly their offspring became giants (the Nephilim), God is
addressing the conditions of the times as they related to His creation: Man!
And
it came to pass, when men
began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,2 That the sons of
God saw the daughters of men
that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.3 And
the Lord said, My spirit shall not
always strive with man, for
that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and
twenty years.4 There were giants in the earth in those days;
and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to
them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.5 And
God saw that the wickedness of man
was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man
on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the
face of the earth; both man,
and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth
me that I have made them.8 But
Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord,
(Genesis 6:1-8, KJV).
Obviously,
by virtue of the words above that are underlined and marked in bold, God does
not appear to be addressing so much the possible offspring of fallen
angels, but with man! God was upset with the wickedness and every imagination
of man’s heart which was only evil continually! Obviously (again) what we are
witnessing in today’s society is the exponential increase of evil in man’s
heart, which was the case in “the Days of Noah.” But the theorists who hold a
monopoly on the prevailing evangelical agenda, place a greater significance on
the possibility that we now have Nephilim on every corner of the earth, ready
to destroy mankind, rather than fulfilling the great commission to preach the
gospel and to attend to God’s work (see James
1:26-27). Obviously, focusing on titillating topics such as Nephilim,
UFO’s, Transhumanism and other ghosts and goblins appeals more to the newly
converted Christian; but this should not be so with church leaders, teachers,
pastors and evangelists, who can make more money discussing or writing books
about these supernatural anomalies.Even worse is an element among evangelicals are those who focus primarily on “prophecy (supposedly the ability to predict the future)" by interpreting political and economic headline news and associating them with certain scripture. These folks come from primarily the ultra-conservative right-wing of American evangelicalism, which see every liberal entity as the enemy. They obviously cannot make the distinction between Americanism and theology, believing in their hearts that people who are not registered, conservative Republicans, must be of Satan.
Unfortunately,
most of these folks hang their theological and worldview hats on the erroneous
Premillennial Dispensationalism doctrine, which promotes escaping the increase
of tribulation through a secret Rapture to Heaven, as well as placing the State
of Israel as being more important than Jesus and His command to pick up our
crosses and follow Him!
Sadly, they ignore the fact there exists a more sinister force that has been opposing Christ since the days of the Pharisees, maybe even before then. These diabolical Mammonites are controlled by their lust for wealth and worldwide power, which they have already obtained to a great degree. They have (through stealth) infiltrated most countries and usurped most of their resources including the financial and media empires throughout most of the free world, including the United States of America. Many (if not most) of these evangelicals unwittingly (or by choice) are supporting the Mammonite agenda as their Zionism ideology clearly indicates.

Nevertheless,
it is interesting to note the last message Jesus Christ gave His followers
before He ascended to Heaven, is one of the most ignored scripture in the
entire Bible. Jesus repeatedly told us that "No one knows about that day or
hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father, (Matthew 24:36).
Jesus reiterates this command as He responds to their
question concerning the restoration of His kingdom, reminding them about a more
important event will transpire which will provide them with the power to endure
all things, mostly for preaching the Gospel and fulfilling His will”
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to
know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven, (Acts 1:7-11).
But, evangelical
pundits (especially on the Internet) care more about their esoteric and profit agenda,
than following and obeying the commands of God!

Good premise - many tares among the wheat. But I believe honest End Times advocates can energize the church and not put it in paralysis. The Truth will always rise to the surface.
Mr. Ortiz, since this blog of yours is known for its high level of scholarship, and since this installment refers to leading prophecy speculator and diehard Zionist Chuck Missler who unfortunately embraces occultic sources including the poisonous Jewish Kabbalah, I hereby share this non-copyrighted item about him that I found on the web:
CHUCK MISSLER – COPYIST !
Many these days are abandoning the pretribulation rapture view, and the June, 1995 article by Chuck Missler (”Byzantine Text Discovery: Ephraem the Syrian”) reveals why there is such a mutiny! First of all, the authoritative scholar that Missler cited, Dr. Paul Alexander, referred only to “Pseudo-Ephraem” and not to Ephraem the Syrian. (If an unsigned ancient manuscript resembles the real Ephraem but there is a question of authorship, they assign it to “Pseudo-Ephraem” – the word “pseudo” meaning “possibly.” For some groundless reason, Grant Jeffrey, the one who reportedly found the “discovery,” changed Dr. Alexander’s terminology! For more info on Jeffrey, Google “Wily Jeffrey.”) And Missler’s scholarship is also questionable. According to the Los Angeles Times (July 30, 1992), about one-fourth of Missler’s 1992 book “The Magog Factor” (which he co-authored with Hal Lindsey) was a daring plagiarism of Dr. Edwin Yamauchi’s 1982 book “Foes from the Northern Frontier”! Four months later Yamauchi’s publisher revealed that both Lindsey and Missler had promised to stop all publishing of their book. But in 1995 they were found publishing “The Magog Invasion” (which was either a revision or a replacement of “The Magog Factor”) – which had a substantial amount of the same plagiarism! (Dave MacPherson’s 1998 book “The Three R’s” has complete documentation on this and other pretrib scandals.) After listing “1820″ as the reported date of the birth of pretrib (he should have said “1830″), Missler sees a pretrib rapture in that Medieval writer’s phrase “taken to the Lord” and, since he evidently favors rewriting others instead of researching, is unaware that Dr. Alexander explained that this phrase really means “participate at least in some measure in beatitude” – which has reference only to doing acts of virtue on earth and not being raptured away from earth! Alexander added that the same ancient writer held to only one final second coming (and not to any prior coming) which would follow the time of Antichrist! (Readers can Google “Deceiving and Being Deceived” by MacPherson to see how groundless the Pseudo-Ephraem claim is and to learn how desperate pretribs are to find any pre-1830 evidence for their escapist view. Dr. Robert Gundry of Westmont College has also demolished the Pseudo-Ephraem claim in his 1997 book “First the Antichrist.”) Since Missler also leans on Thomas Ice, readers can evaluate Ice’s qualifications by Googling “America’s Pretrib Rapture Traffickers,” “Thomas Ice (Bloopers),” “Thomas Ice (Hired Gun),” and “Pretrib Rapture Diehards” (the latter part). For further light on the 179-year-old, fringe-British-invented pretribulation theory, Google or Yahoo “Pretrib Rapture – Hidden Facts.” Finally – why would anyone who has the brains of a rocket scientist want to be taken up with the concept of an any-moment pretrib rapture? The answer may well be that there’s more money in elevating a rapture than launching a rocket!

How can some Christians be so shook up over what might have happened jillions of year ago that they overlook great human needs HERE and NOW - needs of poor and oppressed peoples around the world and even across the street from us! We need to get our priorities straight. Thank-you for your good and honest blog, Brother Joe.

You have so much things to say that I need to know. I really like to learn about God and the bible. My wife like what you say too. I hope you keep telling us what we need to learn. I pray to God for you. Luiz
Great information, great blog, and we have a great God!

Well all of the predictions about the end of the world and the rapture have proved to be totally false, so maybe now all of us believers should now look at just the Word of God and read good blogs like yours which stand on the same Word of God. Thank you Brother Joe for speaking truth and the eternal words of life. God bless you and yours.
